What's it like?

Creuse is a vast rural area in central France. Its main features are lakes, rivers, green rolling countryside, pasture and cattle. It has a lot to offer anyone who enjoys the outdoor life - walking, cycling, horseriding, swimming and watersports are all easily available. However, if you are a fan of nightclubs and partying, forget it!

How's the weather?

The climate is both continental and mountainous, so weather tends to be extreme - summers hot and winters cold. The lush green countryside is evidence of the relatively high rainfall here. However, unlike in England, extended periods of overcast and gloomy weather are not the norm: the rain (or snow in winter) when it comes generally falls very heavily for a few days at a time and then we return to clear blue skies.
